1. Independent Contractor Status
You acknowledge and agree that:
- You are an independent contractor
- You are not an employee, agent, partner, or representative of NeighborCircle
- You control when, where, and whether to accept service requests
- You determine your own availability
- You negotiate or agree to pricing independently
NeighborCircle does not supervise, direct, or control the manner or means by which you provide services.
2. No Employment Relationship
- You are not entitled to wages, benefits, workers' compensation, unemployment benefits, or other employment-related protections from NeighborCircle
- You are responsible for your own taxes and reporting obligations
3. Eligibility & Legal Compliance
- You are at least 18 years old
- You possess all licenses required to perform services you offer
- You comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws
- You will not provide services while under the influence of alcohol or drugs
4. Transportation-Specific Representations
If you offer ride or transportation services, you represent that:
- You hold a valid driver's license
- You maintain legally required auto insurance
- Your vehicle is properly registered
- Your vehicle is in safe operating condition
- You will comply with all traffic and safety laws
You are solely responsible for safe vehicle operation.
5. Delivery & Errand Services
- You are solely responsible for proper handling and delivery
- You understand food handling may involve health risks
- NeighborCircle does not inspect or supervise your services
6. Insurance Responsibility
- You are solely responsible for maintaining any insurance required by law
- Your insurance is primary in the event of any claim
- You will notify NeighborCircle if your insurance lapses or is revoked
NeighborCircle does not provide auto, health, or liability insurance coverage for your activities.
7. Assumption of Risk
You acknowledge that providing in-person services involves inherent risks, including:
- Personal injury
- Vehicle accidents
- Property damage
- Theft or misconduct by others
You voluntarily assume all risks associated with providing services.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless NeighborCircle and its officers, directors, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your services, conduct, negligence, violation of law, or breach of this Agreement.
9. No Guarantee of Requests
NeighborCircle does not guarantee minimum earnings, service requests, user demand, or payment collection. All arrangements are between users.
10. Suspension & Removal
NeighborCircle may suspend or terminate your access at its sole discretion for:
- Safety concerns
- Violations of policy
- Negative user reports
- Failure to maintain eligibility requirements
11. Background Checks (Beta Stage)
- Background checks may be optional or evolving during beta
- Identity verification may be required
- NeighborCircle reserves the right to require additional verification at any time
You agree to provide additional information if requested.
12. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Washington.
